Games Night at Tom and Sylvie's

We started with conversation updates Pizza, then Phase 10 , Balderdash, cake break and finished with Rumoli Many year ago 30-40!!! Sue, Doug, Tom, George and I all worked for PolyCom Systems the company that never dies -well the investors sold it years ago but we continue with parties- the last at my place in 2010 and games nights every few months with the "core" people. Actually these used to be poker nighst and in the early days pots of $800 happened but now some of us(me) cannot afford to lose so we switched to games, still great fun especially Baldedash and challenging "Scotland Yard" and exciting "The Settlers of the Catan" etc.

1812 planning session 3 @ Dan and Anne's pond

Karen and I went over to play/watch some hockey ended up with more 1812 anniversary party planing. Met with Robert Kirk a another scout troop leader. The idea came up of using the two troops in the re-enactment, one for Americans and one for Canadians. Also it was decided to apply for a Government grant for less than $1,000,000 to start putting together the 1812 celebration for Campbellville. 1812 committee to be formed for same.

First Breakdown in sixteen years timing chain

After all these years it had to happen and apparently auspiciously near a Kappy tire. Doubts were raised in my mind when I watched a couple of youngsters working on it with the help of a manual. Anyhow I managed to drive the truck away to its home. I did not use it  for a week and then drove over to Colin and Vi. Power was low and when i went to leave it would not start. This time I had it towed to Milton Canadian Tire. Here I know DAV the service Manager, just an excellent person. Anyhow when they too the front off the camshaft was set two teeth out. All the work was billed to Guelph. Now it runs fine again thanks Dave and Milton CT.
