One very sensible ordinance the hotels condos etc. are not permitted to build on seshore thus preserving the Mangrove swamp habitat for alligators, turtles, snakes etc. So the way to the beach is on raised walkways from the hotels through the Mangrove.

The first time I have had turnip greens, absolutely delicious. To think you cannot buy these in the North a most nutritious and tasty food thrown away - or may be kept in the South!!
