Jim Thorpe on Sunday

On Sunday we (Karen and Gus and Kerry) went to the little town named after the famous athlete Jim Thorpe in the Pokonos. We looked around the town and took an excursion on the Lehigh railroad to see the Lehigh river rapids and rafting. Actually although the train ran close to the river vision was obstructed by the trees in between, We also visited the jail where the "Molly Maguires" were imprisoned.

Moth or Butterfly ?

Beautiful horses but did not go on ride

The Swiss were here

Racoon visit, wading pool gone Atlanctic Wall John Pries

Friendly racoon visited in daylight a couple of days ago I think he wanted a pic so here it is!!!!

Finally got the rebar out of the wading pool structure. Built by John Pries the first owner from Holland. Donna told me he was in his 90s now. That means he could have worked on Festung Europa for Hitler and picked up some tips!!! That was rock solid concrete after 55 years with rebar removal only made possible by English engineering - see!!!

Tom's big decision, Gus for Danny at Penny's and Rog

Penny and Roger invited us (Tom, Sylvie and Gus) for a beautiful salmon dinner Tuesday May 8. There Tom announced the big decision to sell both house and cottage(actually half an island!!!) and rent predicated on a book by a great business forecaster - whose name I have forgotten but will capture for posterity at the games on Friday night. It will be reported here do not miss that post!!!
Also Gus wore the new "Word of Mouth Renos" tea shirt given to him by his great friend Danny the Reno  man. This is the dawn of Danny and we all wish him well in his new full time business.

Penny and Sylvie prepare the feast
or Sylvie watches Penny prepare the feast - choose!!

Gus (in the reno tea shirt) and Tom await the feast - they were not asked to help with preparation!!

Two Completions: Richard 2 visit and the 10 minute job

First the great visit by my cousin Richard (now titled 2 in his emails not to be confused with Richard the second of England!!!) returned to Scotland on Sunday. A great visit described in previous posts. Only one glitch not enough food at the barbecue people almost left starving but Richard 2 stepped into the breech cooking superb mashed potato and carrots to save the day - Agincourt ?

Second after 5 hours work with my mate Dave the chemist completed a "ten minute job" on Monday to take down a branch trapped in trees that could have fallen on a neighbour's garage and/or Dave's wood shed. Finally taken down between both with two winches, two come a longs and 100s of yards of steel cable. Pictures below tell the story.

The Task objective

Worker 1 Dave the chemist

Worker 2 Gus

Successful completion
