Weekend Games and the 4 Musketeers

Of course the last weekend before the new owners assume control of the cottage was spent with a marathon games session. Over the many years we have moved from poker(dating from our days at PolyCom), with our own(we think!!!!) negative lew master poker game,  until you are nearly asleep to the challenge of multiple games. We found time finally to start on what we have talked about for years-creation of our own game. We are planning to have a session principally devoted to this.

This weekend we played two new games - a collaborative game to stop an island sinking and a new poorly packaged game sort of more complex risk - cant remember the names and a bunch of standard games - wizard, settlers of the Catan with new rivers and gold modifications, ticket to Europe the railroad or railway game, Scotland Yard, and 9-5-2 an old game of bridge for 3 to which Doug(dating from his days at Waterloo) introduced us when Tom was tie-ed up. My favourites are Wizard, Scotland Yard and Catan. In Scotland Yard none of us as the criminal has ever eluded the detectives but Torrin, Tom's very bright young son who joined us Saturday evening, very nearly became the first, He was only captured on the penultimate move!!!!

And finally we pooled our money ($5 each) to buy 4 lotto tickets- George hanldled the transactions and maybe because of this we won $40. Following the agreed strategy George is returning our initial investment and gambling the remaining $20 on four more lotto tickets. So this win at least mitigated a little bit the sadness at leaving Tom's beautiful island for ever.

The first time I ever got to the kick off point first - usually last!! so  temporally the first musketeer to arrive

Doug has always been a great host with so many games sessions at his home, here we stopped for supplies.

Tom who has entertained us at his beautiful island and home  getting the boat away from the dock,

George the great volunteer to get things done he is documenting  the first version of our game invention.

New game name title to be entered

Settlers of the Catan
